ACS2000 5.0 Startup Screen
The startup screen offers our familiar menus and toolbars for access to commands, plus a few new goodies: the ACS2000 Today pane and the Fast Start task pane.
The ACS2000 Today pane displays tips and reminders to help you get the most out of ACS2000.
The Fast Start Task Pane provides one-click access to new, existing and recently used documents. It condenses the New, Existing and Recent tabs of the old Fast Start dialog box into a single, streamlined view of what you've been working on and what you need access to.
The ACS2000 Today and Fast Start panes are displayed automatically when ACS2000 starts. They are automatically hidden when you create or open a document. They can be re-displayed at any time using the View/ACS2000 Today and View/Task Pane commands (a top request on our latest user survey).

Error Recovery and Reporting (New)
ACS2000 5.0 auto-saves the documents you are working on. In the event of a program error, simply restart ACS2000 and your quoting session should be restored. ACS2000 will also prompt you to automatically print or send an error report directly to ACS Support Services. Error information can be used to correct problems and provide workarounds.
-
Single Document Interface (New)
ACS2000 uses a single document interface (SDI), in which each document occupies its own window. Having each document in a separate window with a taskbar icon for each document makes navigation easier. You can also opt for a single ACS2000 program icon to appear in the taskbar, and use the Window menu to switch between open documents.
ACS2000 also supports the old multiple document interface (MDI), in which each document is a separate window within the ACS2000 program window. Some users found the Window menu in earlier versions to be counter-intuitive. Documents became "lost" behind other open documents, and document window management was confusing to use.
